Egypt is an extraordinary country whose rich history has been shaped by ancient civilizations and is still preserved today. The Pyramids of Giza and ancient Sphinx are just two of the many reminders of that history - words can’t describe Egypt’s beauty and mystique. Download Egypt travel flyer.
Travel with the Council to discover rarely toured Syria, an ancient gem bordered by Lebanon to the west, Turkey to the north, Iraq to the east, Jordan to the south, and Israel to the southwest. Damascus is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world and is a living museum spanning thousands of years. Our trip will officially begin in Pyongyang, the capitol of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Arriving from Beijing, we can rest at the hotel and still attend a circus performance in the evening. North Korea is an unusual destination, but not as remote or difficult as it is perceived. Entering the country legally, we will be safe and welcomed. The people are formal, but also kind and interested in Americans.
Steeped in history and rich culture, Turkey is a fascinating country. Our trip will include the highlights of Ankara, Cappadocia, Konya, Pamukkale, Kusadasi, Ephesus, Ismir, and will end in Istnabul with a cruise along the Bosphorus. Download Turkey travel flyer.
The mountains that run through the heart of Bulgaria, the Balkans, give this its name. It is a picturesque land, in the center of Europe, and connected to both the east and the west. Bulgaria has great natural beauty and more UNESCO World Heritage treasures than any other country. It’s a destination that will captivate even the most seasoned traveler. Travel to Iran will take you past the headlines into the welcoming Persian culture. We will visit the modern sites of Tehran as well as ancient Persepolis. You will discover the UNESCO world heritage site of Abyaneh and the architecture and bazaar of Isfahan. It is a fascinating country with a sophisticated people, open and ready to embrace new friends.
