Intellectual Property

The Council reasonably works to operate its site without mis-using the intellectual property of others.  If you think that we have inadvertently used your copyrighted, trade-marked, service-marked, or other proprietary content, please write us immediately with the specifics. 

 

Privacy

We have reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures designed to safeguard information we collect.   Conducting business online has inherent risks just using checks and credit cards at stores or over the telephone does.  We are reasonably careful with your information – not guarantors of your privacy or your data’s security.

 

Information transmitted through our site will not be monitored for accuracy or tone for the benefit of sender, recipient, or third parties, but we may monitor it for our own interests. The Council will remove posted content when it wants.

 

Collection

When visiting our site, signing up for our programs, linking to another site, or using our services through our web page, you may supply us with information that identifies you.  This may include your name, addresses, birth date, occupation, industry, shipping and billing data, payment information, visit patterns, registration history, and other information.

 

Aggregate Information

We collect non-identifying information and aggregate it to adjust the design of our site and services, and we share aggregate data with sponsors, advertisers, and other third parties.

 

Our Use

Each of our members has access to information specific only to himself.  We use the information you send us to complete the transaction for which you sent it. We do not share this information with outside parties without your permission, except:  (1) We share to the extent that is reasonably necessary to administer our services  (2)  We comply with subpoenas, court orders, and other legal process.  (3)  We tell you of Council services and conduct surveys.  (4)  We send content and other opportunities to members based on data about their demography and behavior.

 

We only share the personal information sent to us online in ways unrelated to these  uses with an option to quit or otherwise block the use.

 

Changing Your Information

Members can see their membership information by going to their account at http://www.wachouston.org  and selecting "My Account."  Members may correct errors in their information by sending us a written request.
